I am pleased to enclose a copy of the Mayor’s Senior
of the Year Award application which invites youth 18 years of age or younger to
nominate a senior who has made a difference in his or her life or the life of
others. This initiative gives young people the opportunity to recognize the
important role older adults play in our community.
The Mayor’s Age Friendly & Seniors Advisory
Committee was formed by Mayor Sam Katz in October of 2007 to address municipal
issues that are faced by older adults in our city.
On behalf of Mayor Sam Katz and all the members of
the Age Friendly & Seniors Advisory Committee, I would like to ask your
assistance in distributing the attached application to youth 18 years of age or
younger. Entries must be submitted to Mayor’s Office by 4:30 p.m., September 15,
2014.
