The City of Winnipeg offers a variety of fun, cost-effective activities for kids and families this spring break.

Winnipeg Public Libraries
Sign up your kids for fun and interactive learning activities at the library this spring break. From crafting to learning about technology to writing workshops and concerts, there’s something for everyone.

For Tweens (ages 9-12):

Little Bits: Use Little Bits to create an electronic monster. Registration required.
  • Sir William Stephenson Library: Tuesday, March 29, 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
  • St. James-Assiniboia Library: Thursday, March 31, 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
Marble Run Mania: Design and build a marble run, then experiment with speed, gravity and angles. Registration required.

Cute Dolls: Learn sewing techniques and how to create a mini felt mascot. Registration required.

Casting Spells - Writing Fantasy: Writer-in-Residence Patricia Robertson presents on how to develop fantasy worlds and characters. Registration required.

Fun with Makey Makey: Experiment with the invention kit Makey Makey. Registration required.

City of Winnipeg Aquatics
Free Swim schedules and information on reduced-fee pool admissions is available for all pools at City of Winnipeg – Indoor Pools.

Please note that all City of Winnipeg swimming pools will be closed on Friday, March 25, except the Cindy Klassen Recreation Complex, which will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.  All pools will close at 4:00 p.m. on Easter Sunday, March 27.

All pools are closed on Monday, March 28, except the Cindy Klassen Recreation Complex, which will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
