CARE Assemby

Every month GWMS recognizes students for their hard work and successes over the past month. The assembly always starts with the playing of our national anthem.

This is then followed by school announcements.

Students are recognized for their efforts in Phys Ed and athletics, Band, and Visual Art. Then the the three main awards are handed out for: Ourstanding Achievement, Citizenship and imrpovement (the Shark Award).

At the end of the assembly students we are recognize student's achievement through the PASS (Preparing All Sharks for Success) Award. Throughout the month, as students display high achievement or a marked improvement, names are written on small slips of paper and handed in to the office. At the CARE Assembly one name is drawn from each grade level for a small award. The names of all students who are in the draw are read to the entire student body so we can recognize as many students as possible who worked hard.

I look forward to the CARE Assembly mornings. It's a great way to start the day. Thank you to Mrs. Licorish and all the teachers involved on preparing our CARE Assemblies. Congratulations to all students who are recognized. Thank you, as well, to the GW Parent Council, parents and community members who come celebrate with us.

Our next CARE Assembly is on June 10 at 8:30 am. The final CARE Assembly of the school year is on June 26, 2014 at 9 AM. Our year end awards celebration will take place during the last CARE Assembly.

  1. A Citizenship award recipient was a little embarrassed by the attention. "I don't do anything special. It's just daily life. There's no need to make a big deal of it."
Thanks for making a big deal of it!
