Important Meeting for Parents of All Grades 5, 6, and 7 Students

Learning in a Digital World
The 2013-2014 school year is going to be an exciting one for Middle
Years students in St. James-Assiniboia School Division. As a school division we recognize that new
technologies in today’s society can enhance learning environments by providing
students with innovative ways to be creative and critical thinkers. In the 2013-2014 school year each Middle Years
(Grade 6-8) student will be receiving a tablet computer.
On May 29th, 2013 at 6:30 p.m. an information evening will be
held for parents of all Grades 5, 6 and 7 students. The purpose of this
parental meeting is to discuss how this tool will be used in the classroom as
well as to identify student responsibilities for their assigned tablet in the
2013-2014 school year. It is important
that all parents of Grades 5, 6 and 7 students attend this meeting to
understand how the tablet computers will be used in the upcoming year at school
and at home. Information will be
presented by the school principal.
Please attend the meeting at the school in which your child is enrolled
for the 2013-2014 school year: Bruce Middle School, George Waters Middle
School, École Golden Gate Middle School, Hedges Middle School, Lincoln Middle
School or Ness Middle School.
For
parents of Grades 5, 6 and 7 students who are unable to attend the May 29th,
2013 meeting, an alternate date in June 2013 will be announced. This meeting will be held at one location for
all middle years schools. Details to
follow.
