Now that the holidays are over Ms. Ives (Santa Shop CEO) has a couple of requests to ask everyone.
See this message from Ms. Ives below.
As most of you know, I've taken over the Santa shop at George Waters Middle School. It a small second hand "store" that makes it possible for our students to buy presents for their immediate family. The kids love it! They are so proud of the treasures they find that they picked, wrapped and put under their tree. This is where I need your help.
As you clean out your kids toy boxes to make room for their new toys - think of our school. There is a sibling of one our students that would love the toy your child previously loved.
As you go through your nick nacks, old ornaments, or anything else you don't want to see in your house anymore - a student will see it and think it's the perfect thing to give their mom or dad.
Unused wrapping paper - we ran out! Sitting at the table with their peers and showing off what they got for their family while they wrap the gifts is so much fun. But only if there's paper to do it.
Used/unused Christmas bags - you know, the ones you put in a cupboard or closet so you can reuse but never actually reuse, just accumulate. We have kids with fine motor issues, that have little patience for wrapping or on a time crunch. Bags are perfect! They get to chose it, "wrap it", make it pretty with tissue and no one knows any different.
$250 of my budget went to wrapping supplies.
To make it easier on you - I will even come pick up your donations from your house.
I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday!
Sincerely,
Ms. Ives
