Parents, please watch for this letter going home today.
November 9, 2015
Dear Parents/Guardians:
There has been a case of headlice in one of the grade 6 classrooms.
Please check your child’s head for lice and nits (eggs) today and on a
regular basis (i.e. weekly).
If your child has headlice, please contact a pharmacist for a
specialized hair treatment medication.
Your child may return to school 24 hours after the initial treatment.
Teach and remind your child that headlice are transmitted almost
entirely by head to head contact. They
can escape infestation by avoiding head contact with other students (whispering
secrets with one another or contact sports, etc.)
The Public Health Nurse may be contacted if you have further concerns.
Sincerely,
A. Mead
Principal
