As per division policy the quorum of the annual meeting to elect an Executive shall be a number of parents equal to or greater than five percent of the student enrolment of that school. Over the past number of years we have not met the 5% but have still had a dedicated group of parents to be the executive a parent council.
The Executive of the Parent Council shall consist of a minimum of 5 members:
In the past we have met the first Tuesday of every month at 6:30 pm and meetings last usually an hour or so. Parent Council runs fundraisers throughout the year to support students going to Spring Camp, to purchase school clothing, or pay for other things throughout the year. Usually the Parent Council raises enough funds to pay for the busses to Spring Camp which reduces costs for all students attending these camps.
