Bakker's Talkers - Transitions

At George Waters we have a Public Speaking Club that meets every Wednesday at lunch with Ms. Bakker. This club gives our students the chance to improve their public speaking skills through discussion, practice, watching others, and reflection.

Recently, the Public Speaking Club had the chance to speak to grade 6 classes about transitioning to grade 7. This is the time of year when GW starts talking about what is happening next school year. Transitioning grades can be overwhelming for some. The Public Speaking Club hoped to reduce some anxiety that our grade 6 students may have been having while practicing skills learned in class and during their club at lunch.

Some great advice was given, below is an example of the advice 'Bakker's Talkers' gave to a grade 6 class.
