Daily Reflections Emails Home

George Waters students are beginning to send home daily emails about their day. This gives students a chance to reflect about their day and to let their parents know what happened at school. All classes except 601 and 604 have been shown how to send their daily emails home to their parents (they will get shown on Wednesday). Parents, to make sure you get these please send an active email address that you regularly check to school with your child. We have a small number of students whose parents do not use email, those students will email their homeroom teacher or JAWSS advisor (or any GWMS staff member they feel connected with).

Parents get emails with an attachment that shows a link to the homeroom and the school blog. Below that, students choose one word to begin a sentence about their day. Students will be doing doing this doing this in homeroom beginning at 3:10 PM daily but are encouraged to send an email at any point throughout the day about something they want to talk about. To open the attachments parents will need adobe reader, which can downloaded for free by clicking here.

The teacher blog will include homeroom news and events and also any homework that is due or upcoming tests. This is to keep parents aware of the day to day happenings in your child's class.

Here are a couple of examples that grade 6 students did today. In the future, students will also add images of good work they want to share or a voice recording of their day at school. To get a larger view of these images click on them.

Please let Mr. Mead know your thoughts on this. You can email him at amead@sjsd.net or make a comment on this blog.
