A monthly safety tip is going to be shared by the Winnipeg Police Service to help families keep their children safe. The initial "tip" is a website / app that provides users the ability to "send this instead" referring to an alternative to sending explicit or inappropriate messages often requested from your students.
The creator, Mr. Joseph Versace, who works for the Ontario Provincial Police provided the following brief description.
Send This Instead was created because of the understanding of how difficult it can be to say "No". It gives kids an alternative. It was created to deliver some really helpful advice and tools like NeedHelpNow.ca by using a little bit of humor. It was created to engage and empower kids to help themselves and their friends when faced with pressure to send intimate images.
