Year End CARE Assembly - June 26 at 9 AM

At the end of every school year at George Waters we recognize students for their academic growth, citizenship and hard work through out the school year. This year a few changes to our assembly due to the new Provincial Report Card. The grade 6 report card no longer reports the growth and progress through a percentage mark grading scale for Grade 6 students. As there are no percentages to generate a year end honour roll certificate, Grade 6's will not receive an honours standing for the end of the year in the form of an honour roll certificate.

As a result of this new change, in keeping with this change for the Grade 6 population, we are discontinuing the honour roll certificate presentation at the June CARE assemblies for Grade 7 & 8 as well.

Any students in Grade 7 & 8 who receive an overall "honour's" standing (academic average of 79.5% or higher) will  an honours certificate but this will now be given to students within the contents of their final report card envelope that students can pick up later on June 26 or June 27.

This year's final CARE Assembly is on June 26th at 9:00 AM on the last regular school day of the year. Like all CARE Assemblies parents will be notified if their child is being recognized with something special. We will be recognizing ALL grade 8s this year with a formal presentation of each child's Comprehensive Portfolio that has been worked on since they began at George Waters.

Every GWMS child and their parent is invited to attend the June CARE Assembly to share in the successes of this school year.
