Learning in a Digital World - Notice of Important Meeting for Parents of All New Students to GWMS

The 2014-2015 school year is going to be an exciting one for Grade 6 students in St. James-Assiniboia School Division. As a school division we recognize that new technologies in today’s society can enhance learning environments by providing students with innovative ways to be creative and critical thinkers. In the 2013-2014 school year each Middle Years (Grade 6-8) student received a tablet computer. Next year your child will also be receiving a device when they begin Grade 6.

An information evening will be held for parents of all current Grade 5 students. The purpose of this parent meeting is to discuss how this tool will be used in the classroom as well as to identify student responsibilities for their assigned tablet in the 2014-2015 school year. It is important that all parents of Grade 5 students attend this meeting to understand how the tablet computers will be used at school and home next year. Information will be presented by Mr. Mead, school Principal.
