Summer Reading at the Winnipeg Public Library

May 24, 2013

Dear Sir or Madame,

The weather is finally getting warmer, and summer is just around the corner – which means that Winnipeg Public Library’s TD Summer Reading Club is about to begin!

TD Summer Reading Club is a FREE library program that encourages children to continue their reading efforts over the summer months, while having fun and preventing learning loss at the same time!  Children ages 0-12 are welcome to join the club, simply by dropping in to any of our 20 library branches across the city and registering for the program.

All club members will receive an official reading kit that includes a passport, stickers, a reading log and a fun activity booklet.  Throughout the summer, children will also have the opportunity to enter draws for great prizes (including tickets to the Goldeyes’ “Library Night at the Ball Park, August 1st) and join in a number of exciting programs.

Registration for the TD Summer Reading Club opens on Monday, June 24th

To inquire about a Winnipeg Public Library staff person visiting your site to speak with students/group participants about TD Summer Reading Club, please contact me at lgibson@winnipeg.ca . In addition, I would be happy to discuss having your students/group participants come to St James-Assiniboia Library!

Thank you for helping to make this year’s TD Summer Reading Club a great success!  We look forward to seeing the community at the library this summer!

Yours in reading fun,

Leanne Gibson
